Testimonies

This page is dedicated to the awesome power of God and how He changes lives. Below are my wife and my personal testimonies. I encourage everyone that would like to share their testimony to send it to us and we will publish it on this page.

I never get tired of hearing testimonies. They are extremely powerful. I sincerely believe that God uses our personal testimonies to draw His people to Him through Christ.

I was brought up in a small Midwestern town and was baptized as an infant and confirmed in a Methodist Church. I grew up in a very principled home with loving parents that took care of all my needs. My mother knew and loved the Lord. I knew about God and attended church weekly but lived for the world. I graduated from college and went to work for a national corporation.

I married a wonderful girl and we started a family. God was talked about but more out of convenience and tradition. When my first son was born I was brought to my knees after the delivery with the knowledge that God was real and our lives are not mistakes or just happenstance. I acknowledged Him but did not follow Him. I continued to seek status and material things.

My purpose centered on moving up the corporate ladder and making more money. Over sixteen years I became reasonably successful and was making more money than I ever thought I would. Anybody looking at our family would think we were very happy and living the "dream". I was very involved in our church in regard to tasks and serving on committees. I talked like a Christian but my actions mirrored the world.

On my 40th birthday I received a call from my boss and was told that I did not receive the promotion that I was after. This wasn’t the first time that I had not received a promotion that I wanted. But it affected me differently. I was seriously humbled and convicted. I saw myself for the first time as a prideful and ungrateful sinner. I started to read the Bible, I don’t know why, I just knew I needed to. Christ became real to me and I understood John 3:16, For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

I found a church that was not ashamed of the gospel, taught from scripture and held me accountable to learn and apply His word. Things that used to be important to me are meaningless now. Salvation is a miracle. Only He could have made me turn 180 degrees. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

I am still a learner among learners but the Lord continues to bless us. That doesn’t mean there is no trial but that there is a peace as He describes in Philippians 4:6-7. Be anxious of nothing, but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made know to God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall still your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. He has changed my heart.

In Christ
